The Best Barn Wedding Venues
In Montana, there is really no shortage of timeless barn wedding venues. It seems like every week I learn of another landowner who has decided to convert the 1800s barn on their property into a wedding venue. Because of this, it can be very easy to find an inexpensive barn wedding venue that is really just an old empty barn and not really a wedding venue yet.
As a wedding photographer, I have had the privilege to photograph a lot of different barn wedding venues across the state of Montana and have compiled a list of some of the best ones to make sure you don’t end up in some janky, old, manure-filled, building.
The best Barn Wedding Venues in the state of Montana
Foster Creek Farm
Starting off our list is Foster Creek Farm. If you’re searching for a barn wedding venue that has a luxury feel while still holding to it’s rustic roots. This venue is an easy choice. This venue is located just outside of Belgrade, (the neighboring town of the more popular Bozeman). It is a short 20-minute drive from the airport, and this enchanting getaway can accommodate you and some of your guests for your wedding weekend.
Star M Barn Wedding venue
North of Bozeman up Springhill road you will find the Star M barn. This 1912 barn is an open concept venue. This means you have the freedom to make the space what ever you want it to be, making it a perfect choice for the DIY bride! From the beautiful 1000 sqft deck, you can see beautiful views of the Bridgers and other Mountain ranges.
The Round Barn at Twin Bridges
This has to be one of the most unique barns in the country! Originally built in 1882 this barn was home to race horses. It is most well known for being the home to the famous race horse, Spokane, who was the only race horse to come from Montana to win the Kentucky Derby. Now the Round Barn is a stunning wedding venue with views of the Tabacco root mountains
Homestead on Mcvey
Nestled in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley, Homestead on McVey offers breathtaking mountain views in a rustic country setting. This charming venue includes a two-story barn, a dining hall, and seating for over 100 guests under a beautiful willow tree canopy. The 115-year-old barn has been lovingly renovated to accommodate 120 guests for dining on the ground floor and dancing upstairs. Nestled just 20 minutes away from Bozeman, Hardscrabble Ranch presents an exquisite mountain wedding venue. The iconic Ross Peak sets a magnificent stage for memorable ceremonies. Spanning 78 acres, this property features two inviting lodges, 15 charming glamping tents, an al fresco patio, a well-equipped cooking area, a cozy fire pit, and a spacious 4800-square-foot barn with a heated wood floor for dancing the night away. With an extensive network of two miles of hiking and biking trails and the tranquil meandering of Brackett Creek through the landscape, Hardscrabble Ranch provides a tranquil retreat where couples can create cherished memories with loved ones on their special day.

The Big Yellow Barn – Bozeman Barn Wedding Venue

The Big Yellow Barn wedding venue is located less than seven miles north of the city of Bozeman. This beautifully renovated barn is perfect for any Montana wedding at any time of the year! Rent it for special events, wedding ceremonies, receptions, and rehearsal dinners.
The Yellow Barn can fit more than 200 guests seated for formal dinners within the barn. Chairs can be then pulled away to enjoy the built-in dance floor.
