Why I Love Photographing at Foster Creek Farm
Foster Creek Farm is one of the most photogenic wedding venues near Bozeman. It is a 135-acre property in Belgrade — minutes from the airport — with a restored 1923 barn, on-site lodging, glamping tents, and views of four mountain ranges. The property dates back to 1890 when it was part of the Samuel P. Miller homestead, and you can still see the original log cabin and outbuildings standing on the grounds.
What makes this venue incredible for photos is the scale of it. You have the white barn with floor-to-ceiling windows and a two-story rock fireplace, an outdoor ceremony space called The Vista with the Gallatin Mountains behind it, a creek running along the property edge, open fields, and mountain views in every direction. The golden hour light here is outstanding — the sunsets over The Vista are some of the best I have seen at any Montana venue.

The Barn
The centerpiece is the restored 1923 grain barn — heavy timber construction with an open floor plan, floor-to-ceiling windows, a two-story rock fireplace, and iron chandeliers. It seats up to 250 guests for a reception and has a full commercial kitchen, heating and air conditioning, and ADA-compliant restrooms. There is an elevated outdoor deck off the barn for dancing and mingling with mountain views.
Ceremony Spaces
The main outdoor ceremony space is The Vista — an open-air area with the Gallatin Mountains as the backdrop. It can hold up to 300 guests. For a fully indoor ceremony, the barn works beautifully with the rock fireplace as the focal point.
Getting Ready Spaces

The bridal suite is a renovated granary with chandeliers, high ceilings, three preparation rooms, a large ornate mirror, double vanity sink, shower, and a soaker tub. It connects to a suite tent with a queen canopy bed — perfect for the couple’s first night.
The groom’s cabin is the original 100-year-old log cabin with leather seating, a small bar with mini fridge, handmade rough slab vanity, flat-screen TV, and a private outdoor shower. It has heating and AC.
There is also a Whiskey Lounge available as an add-on with some packages.
On-Site Lodging

Foster Creek Farm can sleep up to 35 guests on-site, which is a huge draw for destination weddings and weekend celebrations.
The Estate House — the main house with 4 bedrooms (3 kings, 1 double bunks), sleeps up to 22. Two-story stone fireplace, 12-foot farm table, library, jacuzzi, and a cowboy fire cauldron in the backyard.
Huffine House — the original 1900s farmhouse with 5 bedrooms, original hardwood floors, and a clawfoot tub. Downstairs has a full bath with walk-in shower.
Glamping Tents — 4 tents sleeping 2 each (8 total). Each tent has electricity, a dresser, private changing area, hardwood deck, and patio seating. Positioned around the central fire pit with mountain views.
For overflow, the venue coordinates group block rates and shuttle service with partner hotels including The Armory, The Lark, and Even Hotel by IHG.

Photo Spots at Foster Creek Farm
The Vista ceremony space during golden hour is the obvious standout — the Gallatin Mountains go orange and pink behind you and it is unreal. Inside, the two-story rock fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows give you dramatic light and texture. The barn deck is great for bridal party shots with the mountains. I also love using the glamping tents and the old log cabin for getting-ready portraits — they have so much character. The creek and open fields give you that big Montana landscape feel if you want something wide and dramatic.
