Star M Barn: Bozeman Wedding Venue Guide
Star M Barn is a restored 1917 barn on about 34 acres off Springhill Road in Belgrade, roughly 15 minutes from downtown Bozeman and 10 minutes from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. The barn has a distinctive gothic arch roofline and a rustic open-concept interior that couples can make completely their own.
The barn was purchased by the Mellows family in 2017 and lovingly restored — they preserved the historical character while adding modern essentials like power throughout, LED lighting, and a dry bar on the second floor.
What Makes Star M Barn Different
This is an open-concept venue, which means you’re not locked into a set layout or required vendors. You bring your own caterer (or food truck — there’s a 220V power outlet on the south side of the barn), your own alcohol, your own DJ, and your own decor. The barn is the canvas, and you build the wedding you want.
You also get the venue for about two and a half days:
- Day before: 12 PM–5 PM for setup/rehearsal
- Day of: 10 AM–11 PM
- Day after: Checkout by 10 AM
That’s a lot more setup and teardown time than most Bozeman venues give you.

Pricing
Star M Barn starts at $8,500 for the 2025 season. Contact the venue directly for current 2026 rates — pricing has gone up each year (was $5,500 in 2022, $5,900 in 2023).
The rental fee includes the barn, lawn areas, tables and benches for 120, luxury restroom trailer, wall tent, LED lighting, dry bar, power outlets, and on-site parking. Two pre-wedding tours are also included.
Rehearsal dinner hours are available for an additional charge.
