Greek Orthodox Wedding | Bozeman Montana
It was such a blessing to photograph Dara & Sava’s Greek Orthodox Wedding. When I first met Dara & Sava, I was so impressed by their genuineness and kindness. From start to finish I felt welcomed into their wedding, not just as a photographer or a guest, but as a friend.
This was the first Greek Orthodox Wedding I have ever photographed. It was awesome seeing a different spin on the “normal” wedding day. For example, everyone in the church stands the entire time, rings are exchanged in the back of the church, the bride and groom are given crowns, and the best part, almost everything is sung. The ceremony was very reverent while being full of joy and humor.
When we got to the reception one of my favorite parts was when Greek dancers, led by Sava’s brother, came out and put on a show for the guests. They ended their dance by inviting everyone out on the dance floor but not before they picked Sava up and carried him in a chair around the dance floor.
Everything about this day was steeped in tradition and love and I believe it shows through in each image.
