A Big Sky Wedding Story

Of all the weddings I have had the privilege to photograph, Trey & Danielle’s will always hold a special place in my heart. When we first met via zoom I asked why they were planning to do a destination wedding in Montana. They replied, how they had 2 different elk hunts here that made them fall in love with the place. On the first, Danielle shot her first elk. On the second, Trey proposed with a ring made of ivory from Danielle’s first elk. Since Montana was so central to their love story, they knew they needed to have a big sky wedding.

The wedding was originally slated to occur at Mammoth Chapel in Yellowstone national park with a reception taking place at Buck’s T4 in Big Sky Montana. Unfortunately, due to COVID, it could not accommodate their group.

The Ceremony was rescheduled to take place at Buck’s T4 as well. As soon as I arrived I knew this would be an amazing wedding to take part in. Tears were flowing with in minutes. Joy filled the air. Just a quick look and you could tell Trey and Danielle were in love.

Everything about the wedding day exuded emotion. The Buck’s T4 Wedding venue amplified the day with it’s beautiful gardens, large reception hall and scenic back drops of the big sky mountains.

As soon as the ceremony started. The clouds began to roll in and it looked like the outdoor ceremony was going to get rained on. Thankfully, the rain began to fall on the walk back down the aisle and cleared up shortly after for family photos and portraits.
