The White Raven: Montana Wedding Venue Guide & Pricing

The White Raven Montana - Missoula Wedding Venues

The White Raven is one of those venues that makes you pull over on the highway and wonder what’s up on that mountain. Turns out — it’s a 180-acre property perched on a plateau above the Clark Fork River, about 25 minutes west of Missoula in Alberton, Montana. I’ve photographed weddings here and the property is genuinely stunning. Stone cliffs, ponderosa pines, wildflower meadows, and a modern lodge that doesn’t look like anything else in Montana.

Update (2026): White Raven is no longer accepting new bookings. If you have an existing reservation, contact them directly by phone or email. I’m keeping this guide up because it’s still a useful reference if you’re researching the venue or comparing it to other options in the Missoula area — and if they reopen bookings, you’ll want this info.

The White Raven Wedding Venue

White Raven calls their aesthetic “Montana-Modern” — and that’s accurate. This isn’t a barn venue. The main lodge blends urban design with mountain lodge architecture: panoramic sliding glass walls, heated concrete floors, a ballroom with high ceilings and two fireplaces, and a grand foyer that works as both cocktail space and indoor ceremony backup.

The property sits on a mountain plateau overlooking the Clark Fork River canyon, bordered by Lolo National Forest. You get exclusive use of all 180 acres for your event — one wedding per day, full property buyout. Capacity is 125 guests during peak season (May–October) or 100 in the off-season (November–April).

One thing I love about shooting here: the venue provides a golf cart so we can cover more of the property during portraits. With 180 acres of trails, gardens, cliffs, and river access, you’d otherwise spend your whole cocktail hour walking to photo spots.

Ceremony Sites

White Raven has two main outdoor ceremony locations. The first sits beneath a natural rock wall — dramatic and shaded. The second faces out toward the mountains with a big open backdrop. Both use their modern black aluminum ceremony chairs (up to 125). If weather turns, the grand foyer works as a fully indoor backup.

  • Rock wall ceremony site — gorgeous in afternoon light with the stone behind you
  • Wildflower meadows — peak color June through August
