Why I Love Photographing at The Ponds
The Ponds at Dry Creek is one of the most photogenic wedding venues near Bozeman. It is a 10-acre property in Belgrade where more than half the grounds are covered in ponds and fountains — and behind all of it, you get views of the Bridger Range, Spanish Peaks, and Tobacco Root Mountains. It is only about 15 minutes from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, which makes it easy for out-of-town guests.
What makes this venue work so well for photos is the variety. You have water reflections everywhere, willow trees for shade and depth, the covered pavilion with string lights, and wide open mountain views. I can get completely different looks just by walking to a different pond. The golden hour light over the water here is some of the best I have seen at any Montana venue.

Doug and Mary Hamilton
This venue is owned and run by Doug and Mary Hamilton, and they are genuinely some of the kindest people I have worked with. They have spent years building and maintaining these grounds — the ponds, the fountains, the landscaping — and they treat every couple like family. Couples consistently tell me how accommodating Doug and Mary were, and I have heard stories about Doug personally looking after elderly guests during ceremonies. That kind of care is not something you find at every venue.
Venue Spaces

The main event space is the Big Top pavilion — a 2,400 square foot covered outdoor structure with string lights, open on the sides so you still feel like you are outside. It can hold up to 175 guests for a seated reception. Right next to it is a 1,100 square foot wood deck that works as a dance floor, ceremony space, or extra reception area.
For fully outdoor ceremonies, there are multiple spots along the ponds and fountains. The waterfront areas with willow trees are the most popular — you get water, greenery, and mountains all in one backdrop. Total outdoor capacity is around 250 guests.
The venue also has separate bride and groom prep cabins — each has enough room for your full wedding party to get ready together. There are also three furnished rustic cabins on-site for overnight stays, which is especially nice for the weekend package.

Photo Spots at The Ponds
The ponds and fountains are the obvious draw — reflections during golden hour are unreal here. But I also love working with the willow trees along the water for shaded portraits with depth. The deck next to the pavilion is great for bridal party shots with the mountains behind you, and the open fields give you that classic Montana sky if you want something bigger and wider.
