Snowline Acres — Kalispell’s Historic Wedding Venue
Snowline Acres sits on 30 acres along Highway 93 south of Kalispell, about 30 minutes from Glacier National Park. The centerpiece is Ashley Creek Historic Venue — a restored 1939 Kalispell Lumber Company building with nearly 90% of the original old-growth timber still intact. Between the 40-foot roof trusses, the wrap-around patio facing the Swan Mountain Range, and the fact that you can bring your own caterer and alcohol, it’s one of the most unique and flexible wedding venues in western Montana.

The Venue
The main event space is the Ashley Creek Historic Venue — a reconstructed 1939 lumber company building with 22,000 square feet of total indoor space. The main room alone is 6,000 square feet with towering old-growth timber beams, original wood finishes, and 40-foot roof trusses that make the space feel massive. Large sliding doors open directly to the mountains.
It’s climate controlled with heating and AC, so it works year-round — which matters in Montana. There’s a wrap-around bar, a two-room bridal suite with a half bath, and a prep kitchen with dedicated caterer’s access. The groom’s prep situation is more limited (kitchen area or coat closet), so that’s worth planning around.
Outside, the wrap-around patio has panoramic views of the Swan Mountain Range and works well for ceremonies, cocktail hours, or just a place for guests to spread out. The 30-acre property gives you plenty of room.
Capacity & Guest Count
Snowline Acres can accommodate 200–300 guests depending on your layout. The 6,000-square-foot main room handles large receptions comfortably, and the outdoor spaces give you flexibility for ceremonies and cocktail hours. It works for intimate weddings too — the space doesn’t feel empty at smaller guest counts because of all the architectural character.
Catering & Bar
Snowline Acres is fully BYO — bring your own caterer and your own alcohol. The venue has a prep kitchen with dedicated access for your caterer, so they have everything they need to work on-site. This is a big deal for couples who have a specific caterer in mind or want more control over their food and drink budget. No mandatory catering minimums, no markup on alcohol — you handle it your way.
Pricing
Venue rental starts at $10,000. Since it’s BYO for catering and alcohol, your total cost depends heavily on which vendors you choose. That flexibility cuts both ways — you can keep it reasonable or go all out. Contact the venue directly for current availability and package details.

Where to Get the Best Photos
The main yard out back is the best spot for portraits and wedding party photos — you’ve got the Swan Mountain Range as your backdrop and open sky in every direction. The wrap-around patio works well for ceremony and cocktail hour shots with the mountains behind you.
Inside, the old-growth timber beams and 40-foot trusses give you a backdrop that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the Flathead Valley. The scale of the building creates dramatic framing, and when those sliding doors are open, you get natural light pouring in with mountain views in the background. The bridal suite has good light for getting-ready photos.
