Earlier this spring I spent the morning with the Engle family. It was such a blast capturing photos of the kids running around the house, jumping from couch to couch and playing with their parents. Just being kids. This made me think and wonder why we try to make kids be something else when it comes to taking their picture? While there is a time for the standard family photo, why is that what we push for so hard? Following the shoot I was talking to the husband. He told me how on receiving the photos his wife said “I will cherish these forever”. The kids were who the were not something else. This was one of my first “Life as it Is” photo shoots and by the end of it I never wanted to capture a family any other way.
